April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. In seventh grade she began playing guitar and taking piano classes, which ignited her interest in music writing. At the age of 12 She composed her debut single called Different. At the age of 14, April spent much time writing and honed her music abilities. After a while, she began to go on trips with her dad and to write songs either in NY as well as LA. April included other subjects in her song, Take my Hand. These topics were meant for the friends of hers who struggled issues like peer pressure, and disabilities, or even teenage suicidal ideas. Lockhart also has an ever-growing fan base as a lifestyle blogger as well as a spokesperson for the popular brand of clean and natural beauty Ilia. The disability she has is part of her persona, however it's not the entire image. The account on Instagram of Lockhart doesn't deny her disability. But it also doesn't make it a point to emphasize the issue. What's the message? It's this That we all carry numerous identities. We're much far more complicated than we believe we are. Lockhart, via video message sent from her Nashville at home, claims that I don't wish for this to define my character. I'm much more than my physical self. It doesn't impact my daily activities. I carry on my business as usual and have found my own ways to adapt. In addition, I see it to be a vital part of myself. Lockhart is a true source of inspiration for self-acceptance in general, is on a long road to reach this. However, she acknowledges going through phases with her body and sometimes feeling insecure to wear particular types of clothes that showed how much of her body. Now, though she dons anything she likes and uploads pictures of herself in these outfits on social media with pride. The self-love she talks about is a journey. It's not clear when you'll reach the final stage. It's a fact that I see common to everyone regardless of what their insecurity is. People you associate yourself with, who know you and see into your heart are the ones you should be relying on to remind you of what you're concerned about.
