The role includes promoting national education, nutrition, and literacy as well as early learning. Garner, who has served as a member of the board since 2014, is an advocate for early education. She is an ambassador and frequently interacts with families that are involved in the group's Early Steps to School Success program. The program guides families on how to help young children learn.
